FSC - NYIT Agreement Information

We are excited to announce a new agreement between New York Institute of Technology and 51³Ô¹Ï that allows qualified Farmingdale State students into select graduate programs in the NYIT College of Engineering and Computing Sciences.

Farmingdale students who graduate with a minimum GPA of 2.85 and meet other admissions criteria can continue their education at New York Tech in five of the school’s 30-credit M.S. degree programs: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. All of the master’s programs are offered at New York Tech’s Long Island (Old Westbury) and New York City (Manhattan) campuses, except Mechanical Engineering, which is offered at the Long Island campus exclusively.

Farmingdale students taking advantage of this automatic admission program will also be eligible for priority registration as well as generous financial aid packages, scholarships of up to $3,000 per year, and graduate and research assistantships that provide partial tuition remission. They will also benefit from the ability to participate in federally funded research, access to the school’s Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC), lifetime access to career services resources, and a strong network of alumni with leadership positions in technology and related fields.

Why Consider Graduate School?

Graduate degrees add an advantage to first-time job applicants because they have acquired more specialization in the course of their advanced degrees. There is also a faster path to career advancement for those who have completed graduate degrees in their respective fields. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) maintains updated annual salary statistics for college/university graduates. According to the latest data, the national average starting salaries for graduates of Master’s degrees in engineering and computers science as compared to those with Bachelor’s degrees are significantly higher. This is noteworthy that the cost of a Master’s program can be covered just in potential salary increases in about two years. Salary projection information is provided in the following links:
