Project: "Navigating Challenges: The Intersection of Juvenile Delinquency, School Discipline, and Immigration Status Among Immigrant Youth in New York City"

The purpose of this study is to examine how juvenile delinquency, school punishment practices, and immigration status intersect to shape the educational experiences and outcomes of immigrant youth in New York City.

Student’s role

Students will be tasked with reviewing literature, transcribing interviews, and analyzing relevant data.

Student’s criteria

Research skills that allow students to conduct academic research utilizing library databases. I will teach students how to transcribe qualitative data.

 

Outcomes

Conference presentations, publications, and continued research.

Schedule

This will be a hybrid project that the student can work on at home. We will have weekly virtual meetings to discuss project progress, and we may also meet in person periodically when possible.
