FSC is pleased to offer a Faculty Led Course in Taiwan and Hong Kong!
MLG 300 - International Cinema
(Summer 2025 - May 31-June 14)
 

Explore Taiwan and Hong Kong this summer with Prof. Qing Ai (Dept. Modern Languages). Immerse yourself in Chinese culture, society, entertainment and food for 2 weeks as you study International Cinema (MLG 300). Upon arrival in Taiwan, you will stay in the cosmopolitan city of Taipei as you study cinema. You'll also be introduced to two other cities in Taiwan, Hsinchu and Taichung. Toward the end of the adventure, you'll explore Hong Kong, one of the most important financial and cultural cities of the world! One of the highlights, which will be especially interesting for Tech students, is a visit to the Innovation Museum of TSMC - Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company

MLG 300 (International Cinema - 3 credits) satifies a SUNY General Education-Arts and Liberal Arts elective requirement, and it is a FSC DEISJ designated course. Watch an informational video

Scholarships:

Eligibility:

  • For SUNY students in any major
  • GPA Requirement: 2.75
  • Good disciplinary standing
  • Rolling admission until places are filled. Upon acceptance you will be asked for a $500 deposit to guarantee your place (March 15 deadline). 

Bio.: Dr. Qing Ai received her BAs and MA from Peking University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. She teaches Spanish, Mandarin, and a variety of culture, literature, and cinema courses in the related fields. A native of Beijing, Prof. Ai enjoys exploring worldwide cultures by traveling to different countries and regions. She studied abroad two times in Spain while in college, and is looking forward to exploring Asia this time with students. The cartoon selfie is taken at the Continental Divide, Costa Rica.
