Eligibility
Students applying to the CSTEP program must be New York State residents pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics or a licensed profession (see below). They must also be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credits) and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Historically Underrepresented Group
- African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, or Alaskan Native
- Economically Disadvantaged
- Low-income according to the New York State Education Department Guidelines (see below)
Historically underrepresented group is confirmed with our online application and economically disadvantaged is confirmed with the FSC Financial Aid Office.
How is "economically disadvantaged" defined by CSTEP?
We are a New York State Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program, so we must follow the income guidelines set forth below:
