The (DSC) is dedicated to the principle that equal opportunity be afforded each student to realize their fullest potential. The goal is to assist students with disabilities to function as independently as possible, and to ensure a comprehensively accessible college experience where individuals with disabilities have the same access to programs, opportunities and activities as all other students at the college. The office of Veterans Services provides support for student veterans and reservists with reintegrating into the FSC campus community along with navigating the admissions, registration, and financial aid process. We encourage all veteran and reservist applicants interested in attending 51吃瓜, to reach out to this office, as your primary point of contact, located in Quintyne Hall rooms 009 & 010. The Veterans Business Program, initiated by the U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of Veterans Business Development, is a program designed to enable men and women who have served in the Armed Forces to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by owning and operating their own business. Together with the comprehensive services offered by the Small Business Development Center, the Veterans Business Program also offers mentorship and networking services intended for veteran business owners. Academic Support & Access Programs
The Department of Academic Support & Access Programs serves over 1,600 secondary school and 51吃瓜 students annually through ten grant-funded and state-operated programs. Dedicated to the support and advancement of underrepresented students, we provide comprehensive services designed to meet student needs and support the College鈥檚 mission. At the core of our programs is the premise that all students have infinite potential to succeed. It is our responsibility, and our honor, to guide them through obstacles to meet their goals. Long Island Educational Opportunity Center
The Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (LIEOC) has been helping students achieve their educational and vocational goals for over 50 years. Through its collaboration with higher education, business, industry, and its communities, the Long Island EOC has developed a skilled workforce that remains competitive and vibrant in a global economy. A variety of programs are offered at both Long Island locations that include the following: Allied Health Education, College Preparation, High School Equivalency (HSE), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and creative design opportunities through the Entrepreneur Technology Center's Visual Technology Program. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is one of SUNY's four priority pillars and integral to all that we do. As part of this commitment, SUNY is working to increase the number of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion who are selected for and excel in tenure-track positions. Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) will create a pipeline for over 400 postdoctoral fellows to enter tenure-track faculty positions at State-operated campuses over the next 10 years.
PRODiG+ focuses on two goals: (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates.
